What's new and what's been fixed around the tavern, newest first.
Easier seating for big game nights
Organisers can now update a member's RSVP for them. If someone tells an organiser at the door, or in a message, that they can't make it, the organiser can mark them as not coming, or change them to Maybe or Coming. Their seat is freed up for someone else. The member gets a notification so they know it was changed.
Event organisers can now use the Roster to seat everyone on the night, not just admins.
On a busy night, the list of people still looking for a table shows 20 at a time, and the tables running tonight show 5 at a time, so there's far less scrolling. On phones, the table names stay readable while you drag someone to a seat, and the Auto assign button no longer pushes the page sideways.
Writing competitions and your own Writing space
The club can now run writing competitions. Enter a story before the deadline, and a panel of judges reads every entry without knowing who wrote it, ranking them Eurovision-style. When the results are out, you decide whether other members can read your story. It stays hidden unless you choose to show it.
Your profile also has a new Writing tab: a private place for your own pieces, with folders, tags and autosave, and earlier versions you can go back to. Share a piece read-only with up to 20 members, publish it to Tales, submit it to a competition, or suggest it for your table's wiki.
Session recaps now live in each table's wiki rather than on Tales. Older recaps have been moved there for you.
Calling off a session now asks first. DMs: if your answer for a game night would cancel the session you'd planned, for example choosing to play instead, you're asked to confirm before anything changes, and told how many players will hear about it. Changed your mind afterwards? Choose to run again and you can bring the same session back, with its page and its players, instead of starting from scratch. The DM, the table's deputy and admins can now see who called a session off.
Sharing on a computer copies the link. On a desktop or laptop, Share now copies the link to your clipboard instead of opening your system's share window, which could freeze the browser. Phones and tablets still get the usual share sheet.
Moderation in the app, and blocking that covers posts
Moderators can now deal with reports from the Cork D&D app on iPhone and Android, and approve or reject board posts waiting for approval. Everyone can report a post, a comment or a profile from the app, and block a member from their profile.
You're told why. When a moderator hides or removes something you posted, rejects your board post or suspends your account, they now write a reason. You get it in a notification and by email.
Blocking covers more. Blocking a member now also hides their board posts, tales and comments from you, and their mentions and replies no longer notify you. It already covered chat. You can block from a profile even if you don't use chat. They aren't told, and organisers can't be blocked.
Moderators are told. All moderators now get a notification when something is reported.
The new app screens arrive with the next app update.
Run your table from the app
DMs, and their table's deputy, can now run their table from the Cork D&D app on iPhone and Android:
answer requests to join and drop-in seat requests
change the table's settings, remove a player or appoint a deputy
invite players and see who you've invited
edit or cancel a session, change its drop-in spots and record who came
add a session you've already played
open a seat to a drop-in when a player can't make a night
The new screens arrive with the next app update. On the website, a session can now only be cancelled while it's still scheduled.
A tidier "The Story So Far"
On a table's Overview, The Story So Far now shows your two latest session pages as a proper list: the session date on the left, the title, and a Read more button. When there are more, See more opens the latest one in the wiki, with all the table's session pages listed beside it.
DMs can make a drop-in guest a regular
If someone dropped in to one of your sessions as a guest and you'd like them at the table for good, you can now give them a seat yourself, without them having to ask. On your table's Party tab, each guest who has played a session with you has a Make regular button, as long as you have a free seat. They get a notification and join the table's chat.
Also on the Party tab: the drop-in guest list now shows five at a time, and removing a player or approving a request updates the page straight away, including the player count at the top.
When you invite someone to a single session, the invite window now explains that they'll come as a drop-in guest for that game. To give someone a seat at the table, invite them from the table page.
One sign-up per game night, and bigger wikis
One sign-up per game night. You now answer the game night once: coming to your table, coming without a table, maybe, or not coming. The rest happens for you. Your answer shows the same on the home page and the night page, and you change it on the night page. One-shots and special events work as before.
For DMs: pressing Run my table sets up the night's session and a page for it in your wiki's Sessions shelf. Your table can also have a usual night and run itself every week, which replaces repeating sessions.
For deputies: you can set the session up for your DM.
Reminders: the day before, DMs get a reminder if their table isn't confirmed, and organisers hear if there aren't enough seats.
Session notes are now read-only. Talk in your table's chat, and keep the record in your wiki. Your DM's past notes move into the wiki's Sessions shelf; everyone else's stay where they are.
Wikis are no longer limited to 100 pages. Each table's wiki can now hold 20 MB of writing and 250 MB of maps, pictures and handouts, however many pages that takes. DMs can see how much room is left at the foot of the wiki.
The Story So Far on a table's page now shows your Story So Far wiki page and then each session's page, and adding a past session can start its wiki page for you.
A tidier look: pages share one width, banners no longer push a table's title off the first screen, and amber is saved for what matters.
The Tables page opens on your own tables. Switch to All tables to see the rest of the club's.
Custom rank pills
Admins can now give any member their own title and colour, such as Groundskeeper or Head Librarian. It shows beside their name in place of their usual role badge: on their profile, in the member list, on their board posts and in chat. Titles changed in chat now show up straight away for everyone, with no need to refresh.
Search the library, find a librarian, and a clearer record of club activity
You can now search the library catalogue by title or description. Results update as you type, and work alongside the category and gallery or list choices. A new Find a Librarian card shows who looks after the library, so you know who to ask about borrowing.
Organisers can now see a fuller history for an account when they need to look into a problem, such as a suspected spam account or a mix-up over who said they were coming. That includes when an RSVP was changed or withdrawn, and when someone signed in. It never includes your IP address or device, it's kept for a year, and it's included when you download your data.
Admin actions are now recorded more completely too, including library, inbox and moderation actions, and each time an admin opens someone's history. Our Privacy Policy has been updated to explain this.
Wiki history, a 30-day bin for deleted pages, and shorter lists
Undo for the wiki. Every wiki page now keeps its recent versions. Press History beside Edit to see who changed what, compare a version with the one before, and restore it in one click. You only see versions from times you could read the page, so secrets stay secret.
Deleted pages wait 30 days. DMs can bring a deleted page back from the Recently deleted shelf at the foot of the wiki, with its text, who could read it and its history.
Session notes into the wiki. DMs can send a session note to the wiki with Add to wiki, as a new page or added to an existing one, credited to whoever wrote it.
Game nights with lots of tables now show 10 at a time. Longer lists across the site (guests, join requests, invites, your stories and more) page instead of scrolling forever, and short ones like "Mentioned in" and "Liked by" step through five at a time.
Special events can have one big table (up to 100 seats) for things like attendance, set up by an admin.
For admins: choose how long Admin mode stays on (5, 30 or 60 minutes). It no longer switches off while you're part-way through a form, it ends when you sign out, and it takes up much less room in chat.
